Cucumber Beauty Benefits: Puffy Eyes Natural Remedy / Whitening Facial Mask / Refreshing Mint Scrub and Sunburn Soother

Stay cool during hot & humid days just by being aware of the all natural cucumber beauty benefits for your skin: an awesomely effective puffy eyes natural remedy, a great whitening facial mask & a refreshing mint cucumber scrub for hot summer days.

Cucumbers are 95 percent water, therefore they can easily refresh you from the inside out, keeping you hydrated if you eat them and helping you relieve sunburns, acne problems and fight large pores, oily skins or dermatitis if you apply them on your skin.

Cucumbers are chock full  with the vitamins the body needs in a single day therefore it’s the ideal ingredient for your green smoothies and fresh salads. The high water content, Vitamins A, B , K and C and the presence of minerals like magnesium, potassium, manganese and silica make cucumbers an essential part of a healthy diet as they may help in weight loss, in reducing cholesterol and regulating blood pressure.

If you use them often in your meals, you’ll be happy to discover the cucumber beauty benefits which will show you one more time how many of the ingredients we usually use in our kitchen can beautify us not only from the inside out.

First of all, click below to see the video-tutorial with the cucumber beauty tips:

Cucumbers are one of the oldest, most known & most effective home remedy for puffy, tired eyes. It really helps a lot in reviving the eye and reducing the under-eye bags and puffiness placing chilled slices of cucumber on the lids.  The high amounts of vitamin C and caffeic acid will help a lot in minimizing the problem.

Otherwise, a natural homemade solution for a quick on hand alternative for busy on the go mornings 😉 would be to blend the cucumber slices, to filter the puree you obtain to get the juice. Dip the cotton pads in the juice, squish them, then place the cotton pads into a freezer plastic bag and place the bag in the freezer.

Whenever you need to get rid of dark circles, tired eyes and under eyes bags, you just have to thaw 2 cotton pads for at least 10 minutes and then proceed applying them on your eye lids with your head elevated (to help gravity keep the fluid moving down away from your eyes) for at least 10-15 minutes. As a result, your eyes area wil instantly feel lighter and glowing.

cucumber whitening mask The cucumber whitening mask helps to tone and refresh the skin. It fights effectively large pores and reduces oiliness. It also helps to lighten the complexion of our skin if applied constantly over a period of time. Lemon juice contains a high amount of citric acid, which is naturally astringent and will gently bleach your skin helping even out your skin tone by lightening dark patches, freckles and age spots. Honey and white clay will purify, cleanse, heal, soothe and nourish the skin. If you do not have white clay you may use instead oat flour.  The tea tree essential oil has powerful antibacterial, antimicrobial and  cicatrisant properties; it will help scars and blemishes to fade.

refreshing cucumber mint scrub The cucumber & mint body scrub is a yummy chilly scrub, ideal for hot summer days which combines the astringency and soothing properties of fresh cucumber with the cooling, stimulating mint by using a handful of fresh mint leaves and Peppermint Essential Oil.

As an exfoliant, I chose sea salt & fine white sugar. Keep in mind that the salt & sugar will dissolve in the liquid therefore I’d recommend to do a small batch just for 1 appliance just 5 minutes before using it!

Otherwise, it would be best to store the mixture of mint and cucumber without exfoliants until it is time for use. As the mixture contains fresh plant ingredients, it should be treated as fresh food. Therefore keep in mind to store it in your fridge for up to 3 days.  As a carrier oil you may choose your favorite one or the vegetable oil which suits best your skin type. I chose for this scrub, rice oil for its light texture which will leave the skin soft, elastic and nourished.

This scrub has a clean, fresh, bright fragrance and the perfect blend of mint and cucumber will revitalize and tone your skin.

And speaking of hot summer days, it’s easy to get a sunburn and be desperate to find some soothing solutions to your pain 🙂

DIY cucumber beauty tips Well, cucumber work miracles for sunburns, as well, as they manage to moisturize and refresh, speeding up your skin recovery. In order to get the most of this body pack add to 1 blended cucumber, 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel which will promote regenerative cutaneous processes and if you have it on hand 1 teaspoon of vegetable glycerin which is a humectant and which will keep your skin moisturized and nourished, facilitating water retention.

Place the mixture into the refrigerator for half an hour then apply it on your sunburn and let it rest for at least 15-20 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water and you’ll be happy to notice the cooling and soothing effects on the skin of this 100% natural homemade remedy 😉

Hey.. Can I use a green clay in-sted the White clay. I have oil skin and it
    my work for me?

  26. Leila says:

We all want clear, acne-free skin. The struggle isn’t always with just the
acne itself but making all the changes in your lifestyle that you need to
do in order to let your skin be at it’s best! 🙂

But let’s admit, sometimes it’s hard to do all those things because we HAVE
to do TOO much at once. Which is why I started a Skin Care Challenge, where
you pick only ONE goal for the week that will bring you closer towards
    clearer skin.

  27. Elizabeth Zerquera says:

Do I need to use a moisturizer after the face mask? Or will the oil do that
