Making Aloe Vera Gel at Home – Video-tutorial

homemade aloe vera gel

Hello my beautifoodies friends, this beauty tip is especially for those of you whom love & use aloe vera gel everyday…because making aloe vera gel at home will help you save lots of money while being fully aware of what your aloe vera gel contains. You may already know that the aloe vera leaves secrete a clear, transparent, jelly-like substance that can be applied topically to heal wounds, burns, sunburns and soothe skin. This would be the best solution as it preserves all of the beneficial properties of the plant, but it’s not that handy and how many of us have at home an aloe vera plant? If you choose to make it at home, the ideal solution would be the aloe vera gel obtained using: freeze-dried aloe vera powder or pure aloe vera juice The therapeutic profile of the freeze-dried aloe vera powder is lower than the gel obtained directly from the plant, YET it preserves important benefits for the skin: moisturizing, healing, soothing and protective properties. The freeze-dried aloe vera powder can be obtained from either the aloe leaves & as well as from the inner gel. The transformation process removes the water from the leaf which is then transformed in powder. If it’s used the inner gel … Continue reading

Fresh Lavender Infused Oil DIY Recipe

Fresh lavender infused oil

If you love the calming perfume of lavender you’ll surely love this recipe which shows you how to make your own fresh lavender infused oil…   As you can notice from the title of this blog post, it’s FRESH lavender and not dried lavender flowers…well, the infusion method  for the fresh lavender is a slightly bit different and the infused oil you’ll obtain, will have a perfume a lot more powerful & balsamic as the scent of the fresh lavender flowers is much more complex & balsamic, with a pleasing aroma which will be transferred to the extraction oil. Last year I shared with you how you may obtain herbal infused oils, specifically using dried lavender flowers or lavender-calendula-chamomile dried flowers and I also made a short introduction to the the fascinating universe of herbs infused oils and the various methods of extracting the active fat soluble principles of the plants as well as their perfume. Therefore, if you can’t get fresh lavender flowers, don’t despair, you’ll still be able to obtain a lovely scented infused oil. Check out the video tutorial: or the blog post I made last year on how to make a lavender vanilla infused oil using coconut oil to finally make a … Continue reading

Make your own homemade Vitamin C Face Toner

homemade vitamin c facial toner

Hello my beautifoodies friends, here I am ready to share with you the 3rd First Aid Tip to help you fade away acne scars, blemishes, red patches & dark spots. In my previous blog posts I shared with you: * how to prevent pimples and fade aways acne scars using essential oils and * how to make an Acne Scars & Rosacea Fade Away Serum Using Rose Hip & Ribes Nigrum Seed Oils, and today I’ll share with you how to make a homemade vitamin C face toner. Why Vitamin C? Well, vitamin C is extremely effective at lightening acne scars & promoting clean, clear and blemish-free skin. If you’ve been reading my blog for quite some time, you already know that I am a firm believer that our beauty starts from the inside out and that we must help our skin from the inside before starting to cure it on the outside. How can we do that? Fortunately, Vitamin C can be obtained from both plant and animals sources. The richest plant sources of ascorbic acid are fruit and vegetables. Eating plenty of fruit and vegetables may help you in healing acne scars from the inside out and in the same time it will … Continue reading

DIY Acne Scars & Rosacea Fade Away Serum Using Rose Hip & Ribes Nigrum Seed Oils

Fade away acne scars naturally

Hello my beautifoodies friends, as promised I am back with the second series, Vegetable Oils First Aid in fading away acne scars, rosacea, red marks & dark spots using a homemade acne scars fade away serum. The two best known vegetable oils for their regenerating properties, the Black Currant oil (otherwise known as Ribes Nigrum Seed oil) and the Rose hip Seed oil (also known as Rosa Mosqueta oil), are great natural remedies to fade away acne scars. The Rose hip Seed Oil is extracted from the seeds of the Chilean Rose hip Rosa or Affinis Rosa Rubiginosa. It is a precious oil well-known for its regenerating & anti-aging properties, with remarkable results in improving the appearance of the skin as well as in preventing the damage of various pigmentations and wrinkles. It has excellent tissue regenerating properties, promoting tissue healing & helping reduce scars (acne scars as well as chirurgical scars). It contains a very high proportion of polyunsaturated fatty acids that are important for the synthesis of prostaglandins, which are substances responsible for the renewal of the skin. Being a rich source of essential fatty acids, it promotes the cell regeneration, proving to be very beneficial to treat acne lesions, stretch marks and scars. If your scars are … Continue reading

Prevent pimples & fade away acne scars naturally with essential oils

Hello my beautifoodies friends, here I am back with a new highly requested beauty tip. Lots of you left me messages in my previous videos or on the social networks on how to prevent pimples & fade away acne scars naturally. Acne is a severe skin issue & often cannot be solved by only using simple beauty tips & tricks. In order to see long-lasting results, you may have to see a dermatologist & to pay attention to your diet, making the best efforts to eat as healthy as possible, avoiding artificial sweeteners, artificial flavors, synthetic trans fats, artificial colors etc. Another thing you have to pay attention to is what you apply on your skin, starting with your face creams as well as the make-up you use. Mineral oils which are often in the ingredients list of many cosmetics, may clog your pores & instead of helping you treat your acne issue, making it only worst. Do your best to use natural, organic face creams, paying always attention to the ingredients list as green does not always mean safe. Most of us, as teenagers, suffered from this skin issue & probably, having the right approach at the time, may have … Continue reading

A dream coming true: Beautilicious Delights – Conscious Skin Care – coming soon!

Hello my beautifoodies friends, I know it’s been long since my last tutorial, but the wait is almost over. I’m so sorry I could not make new videos, but I had to dedicate all of my energies to making a dream come true: Beautilicious Delights, my own skin care line, a dream that once seemed impossible. The below shot only anticipates part of the delights I have in store for you 😉   For me, it’s not just a skin care line, it reflects a way of living, a lifestyle in which we choose to no longer live  blindfolded, lost in tricky adverts, in which we choose to be aware of what we are applying onto our skin & why not, a lifestyle in which we choose to take care of our skin from the inside-out, as true as it is that we are what we eat. Long story short: Conscious Skin Care! Mother Nature has always been practicing abundance and generosity: providing us the beauty of nature for our spirit & offering us all of its fruit as food for our body & skin. Its fruit not only are able to nourish our insides, but to also  moisturize, heal, hydrate, indulge and beautify us … Continue reading

Make Your Own Natural Homemade Remineralizing Herbal Toothpaste: Sage, Horsetail & Mint

homemade remineralizing toothpaste

Hello beautifoodies friends, those of you who follow me on Facebook or Instagram know that in the past few months I’ve been trying different formulas of toothpaste and today I am excited to finally share with you the ones that I most loved. I have to confess that I personally love practicing oil pulling in the morning for all of its amazing benefits as it helps me with my sensitive teeth, freshens my breath, withens my teeth and strengthens my gums. Plus, there are lots of dentists out there that claim that toothpaste is of no use or at least secondary when talking about teeth cleaning. What we’re really going to benefit from are the mechanics of the process: the brushing, flossing and irrigating. This being said I would not dream of  facing my busy-on-the-go mornings without my homemade toothpaste as well as there is no going back, once you experience the natural freshness of herbs & how clean your mouth feels at night before going to bed 😉 I don’t like the psychological terrorism that it’s usually used to warn against harmful ingredients that may be found in our daily cosmetics. I truly believe that only being aware of what … Continue reading
